Yes, that's Matt during a thunderstorm holding an umbrella over the brew kettle, which is underneath a leaking tarp. We also had a floodlight set up just so we could see.
Or you could move out here. Of course since a vacated Chicago to sunny Southern California, I have had very little time to brew. Check out my "is it brewing weather?" sidebar on my blog:
We've always been into beer, and in September 2008 we took the plunge into homebrewing. This blog chronicles our education in the many aspects of the brewing process, reviews of the beers/breweries we sample, as well as miscellaneous beer tidbits.
Matt Mayes & Meg Rutledge live in Chicago's "West Bucktown" neighborhood with their two cats, Punky & Meadow. They are members of HOPS, serve on the board for the Chicago Beer Society, and Meg is a co-founder of the Association of Beer Vixens, a Chicago-area beer education and appreciation group for women. When not brewing and/or drinking beer, they've been known to work on their fixer-upper two-flat abode, host raucous backyard BBQ's, and play a little jazz.
